Sem Duvida

SEM DÚVIDA started in 1990, with original members Mario Silva (Guitar), Joe Rocha (Drums), Dina Sousa(Lead Vocals), Danny Bettencourt (Bass) and Paulo Almeida(Keyboard).  After several years of being a five piece band, the group decided to maximize their sound by adding a three piece horn section.  Over the years members have changed several times with the exception of Mario Silva (Guitar).  The current line up has been together for six years.

 

As time evolves, so does Sem Dúvida.  We enjoy playing Portuguese music we grew up listening to at the festa's in the 80's and 90's, but we add a modern sound.  No reason the classics have to sound dated, we just modernize the sounds by playing the most up to date keyboard and guitar sounds, while adding our talented horn section, which CANNOT be replicated by any keyboard sound patch!.  When listening to Sem Dúvida, you'll find it hard not to get up and dance!

 

Sem Duvida has played events throughout California, from San Diego to Mendicino, and even out of state as well.  We will go where requested as we want to help continue the tradition of dances at Portuguese Celebrations.

 

Sem Duvida is a fully independent band/organization and does not depend on anyone else for sound or lighting production, nor outside marketing or booking agents.   This is great as we are not dependent on anyone else's schedule when it comes to booking events. We are the ONE STOP shop when looking for live entertainment.

 

Sem Dúvida not only plays Portuguese music, but we also play American hits from bands like Journey, Bon Jovi, Van Morrison, John Cougar Melancamp, Bryan Adams,  Simple Minds, Garth Brooks, and Lone Star to name just a few.  We also play Latin hits from artists such as Mark Anthony and Luis Fonsi. 

 

In short, although Sem Dúvida is known for there Portuguese music, we also play the American hits as we have also played at several weddings, crab feeds, and corporate events.  We bring just about any event to life!
